Iran kaolin (kaolinite)
Minerals have been mined in Iran for several thousand years. There are numerous industrial mineral deposits in Iran. Minerals and mineral products produced included alum, ammonia, barite, bentonite, boron, cement, other clays, dolomite, feldspar, fluorspar, granite, kaolin, lime, limestone, magnesite, marble, mica, perlite, salt, construction sand, glass sand, sodium sulfate, crushed stone, sulfur, talc, turquoise, and urea. Kaolin is a aluminosilicate mineral, a fine clay mass, usually white in color, and made up principally of clay mineral kaolinite, that Iran has many mines of it. The kaolin clays have the approximate formula (2SiO22H2O); however, they also contain small amounts of other minerals, as well as impurities. Kaolin is used extensively as a coating and filling clay in the manufacture of paper, paints, refractories, plastics, sanitary wares, fiberglass, adhesives, ceramics, and rubber products. Kaolin with
the chemical code KBM100 - this is found and mined in veins and
thegrade-1of it has been separated and is used for making ceramic tiles. This
minedmaterial comes in grades-1, 2 and 3 which depends on the percentage of
metal content and alteration of percentage of aluminium.
