Oil absorption: Determined according to DIN 53199 and expressed in gm of raw linseed oil per 100grms of pigment.

Fastness to light: tested in air drying soya alkyed resin in full shade as well as reduced shade 1:10 with titanium dioxide. Assessment of the values according to standardized wool scale:

Specific Gravity determined by using a pycnometer and kerosin in accordance with DIN 53193.

PH-Value determined by measuring the PH of the fitrate from 1% slurry to DIN 53200.

Heat stability in plastics tests were carried out according to DIN 53772. Heat stability test was on an performed on an injection. Mouldind machine, dwell time 5 minutes.

Plastic: high density polyethylene, pigmentation level 1%. The values indicate in te table represent the maximum temperature in °C at which a color change is not more thn value 4 on the standardised grey scale DIN 54001.

Fastness to acid/alkali was determined with dry pigments, mixed with titanium dioxide (1:10). Sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid in the concentration of 10%, 1%, 0.1% was taken as stimulant. The highest concentration of acid/alkali at which the pigment is 4 not affected is considered as the acid/alkali resistance. Expression in the (5 Best).

8 = Outstanding

7 = Excellent

6 = Very good

5 = Good

4 = Fairly good

3 = Reasonable

2 = Poor

1 = Very poor

Heat resistance for paint applications was tested by heating dry, pure pigment powder during 30minutes in a drying cabinet. The maximum temperature at which a change of the color is not detectable, is the heat fastness in paint. Measurement of color computer.

Fastness to solvents: Inorganic pigment are insoluble in xylene, cello solve and in organic solvent in general, the figure 5 indicates isoluble.
